Hi! My name is Amanda Hart and I am 15 years old. I live in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with my mom, dad, and 13-year-old sister, Megan. I am a sophomore at Georgetown Visitation in Washington, D.C. where I enjoy playing tennis and basketball and getting involved in various clubs, such as the yearbook committee. I love English class and creative writing and I hope to one day pursue a career in that field by becoming an editor or a writer. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family and my dog, Sam. I have alsoplayed the piano for nine years.
My school and my community take service work seriously. Growing up with community service at top of mind, I am excited to get involved with helping others through Girl Up.
I became involved with Girl Up thanks to a similar program called Girls Up. Through working with this amazing program for the last five years, first as a participant in the summer camp and for the last three years as a member of the teen board, I have learned the importance of empowering girls and showing them how to have courage and confidence. I am so excited to broaden my horizons with Girl Up and take this to the next level by helping girls all over the world, not just within my own community.
