Hibatu

Hiba is a young girls’ and women’s rights advocate from Ghana where she lives with her parents and siblings who support and inspire her to champion girls’ rights in her community. She focuses her advocacy on child marriage, adolescent pregnancy and on supporting girls who dropped out of school to resume their education. As part of the Girls Advocacy Alliance, Hiba often meets with religious and traditional leaders to discuss issues related to girls’ rights and gain their support.

Hiba also participated in a “takeover” of the House of Lords in the British Parliament last year. Along with UK school girls and youth advocates from Ghana and Rwanda, she participated in a debate in the House of Lords and met with British politicians.
