The International Gender Equality Movement Summit, hosted by the Girl Up Club at Northwestern University working together with the Women’s Center and other Northwestern University student groups, will bring together promising female students form the Chicago area for a day of leadership development. You and talented peers in grades 5-8 will spend the day participating in activities aimed at promoting strong communities both at home and around the world.
The event is being hosted at Northwestern University’s campus at Harris Hall (1881 Sheridan Rd., Evanston IL) on Saturday, May 16 from 10am-3pm. The morning portion will include a speaker, leadership building activities, and open dialogue centered on developing skills and values. After lunch, we will reconvene for a presentation and various interactive activities focused on the following issues affecting girls around the globe: access to education, healthcare, safety, and leadership opportunities. Registration opens at 9:45am.
